The Matrix was one the great movies released towards the end of the 90’s, the leading stars in the cast were Keano Reeves, Lawrence Fishbourne and Carrie-Anne Moss. It was the first in a trilogy, the second and third being called Reloaded and Revolations respectively.

An idea of the Wachowski brothers, the film proved them with great wealth and greater acclaim. The idea for the movie however did take many years to become reality with the film being pitched to many companies until it was picked up by Warner.

The film is set in the future at a time where Humans are losing the war against machines. The matrix is a concept born of the machines that enabled them to control humans from their birth enabling the machines to use them as a source of power, like a rechargeable battery.

There are a small group of humans however that are not part of the program who have hidden themselves from the machines deep underground near the earth’s core. Through their ingenuity they have been able to hack into the matrix and interact with it allowing them to free people from the grasp of program.

As mentioned the plot follows a character called Neo, a person who has been trapped inside the Matrix. Neo leads a normal life within the computer world working for a reputable software company whilst selling illegal hacking programs on the side. In the matrix there are stories of what it actually is and Neo is intreged by them following one transgressions of one of the leaders Morpheus.

Little does Neo know but Morpheus has been looking for him, when they meet Morpheus offers to free Neo from the program and also him to be free from the control of the machines.

Morpheus later tells Neo that he believes he is ‘the one’, the one that will save the human race from the machines and stop the machines once and for all. The film then center’s on the journey of Neo of fulfilling his destiny, which starts with him being beaten up by Morpheus in a training program and falling off a high rise building when trying to learn how to break the code of the program.

As is common place with many people who the rebels believe are ‘the one’ they are sent to see the Oracle, who informs Neo that Morpheus will die because of his belief in Neo and that he is not the one. Neo proceeds to save Morpheus and at that point they both start to begin to believe that he truly is the one.

Whilst they are escaping the Matrix, Neo is confronted by Agents, the controls measures of the computer program, and a battle ensues. Neo loses the first encounter and is killed, when you are killed in the virtual world you are killed in the real world for as the film puts it the body cannot live without the mind. However Neo somehow regains conciencous and is able to defeat the Agent and get out of the program with his life and Morpheus.

It is simply a matter of revising it for your exam. The story goes that he was a pretty average, even bad guitarist, but in just one year he became phenomenal. Items such as carpets and draperies tend to absorb sound, while wooden items tend to amplify it or make it sound more ‘live’
